Ever wondered how to twirl a baton or what it was like to lead a marching band in a parade? This class will teach you the basics of baton twirling and address beginning marching skills. You’ll learn beginning twirls like Table Tops (or horizontals), Figure 8’s, basic rolls, flourishes and thumb tosses, as well as the correct foundation of feet and body work. It is only through a good foundation in these techniques that you can become a fine twirler. Bring your own metal, balanced baton that fits from arm pit to tips of fingers when arm is stretched out in front. Bussing from Dorseyville Middle School and all FCASD Elementary Schools is available for this class. Parents and caregivers provide the ride home.
