Fasten your seatbelts, we’re in for some wild weather. This unit is all about the amazing and powerful forces of nature. We’ll examine the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where tsunamis occur; view a diagram of the tectonic plates; and learn how their movement creates earthquakes. We’ll examine “Tornado Alley” in North America and learn about the weather patterns that create hurricanes. Kids will love building motorized LEGO models replicating the motions of a tornado, a tsunami, and earthquate and a cyclone complete with a seat for a minifig to take in the action. Our LEGO builds are motorized and designed by engineers with the intent of introducing STEM concepts in a fun and friendly environment. Bussing from all FCASD Elementary Schools is available for this class. Parents and caregivers provide the ride home.
