Refund and Inclement Weather Policies

Refund Policy

If a program or class is cancelled by the Lauri Ann West Community Center, you will receive a 100% refund, less the online processing fee.

If you cancel your registration for a class or program prior to the first class date, you will be refunded your registration fee, minus: (1) a $10 processing fee and (2) your online processing fee.

There are no refunds for cancellations on or after the first day of class or for unused classes.  Class registration is not pro-rated.

Inclement Weather Policy

Lauri Ann West Community Center strives to remain open to the public during inclement weather and will make every effort to do so as long as roads are not hazardous.

When the Center is closed, either completely or for part of the day, we will post a message on KDKA, our website,, and our main phone line 412 828 8566

Sometimes the Center is open, but individual classes may be canceled.  It is always best to call or check the website about one hour prior to class start time.

If you have rented a room or the gym, and you cancel your event, please contact us on the main line 412 828 8566 x 101 and contact your attendees to inform them that you have canceled.

Arts and Enrichment Program:

The Arts and Enrichment Program after school hours for Care will be canceled when the Fox Chapel School District closes for the day when they had a full day of school scheduled on their calendar.

If Fox Chapel closes for the day, and they had been scheduled as a half-day, we will accept the children at 1:00 p.m., as long as roads are not dangerous for staff and instructors to get here.  Please call or check the website.

When the FC schools have an early dismissal, the Arts and Enrichment After School Program will make every effort to open and extend the day in order to accommodate the children.  Parents are requested to pick up their children as soon as possible if roads appear or are forecasted to get dangerous.

Please be advised that a power outage or other situation may warrant the closing of the Center.  While it is our goal to serve the community, safety of our customers and staff is our number one concern.
