On May 31st, we will be hosting a “Kindness Grows Here” workshop. Join us for a morning of storytelling and community kindness crafts! We will read “Looking for Kindness,? a children’s book written by local authors and inspired by O’Hara resident Kevin Cavlovich. Mr. Kevin was known for his acts of kindness in his school community. We will discuss how to be kind in our homes, schools, and communities and how we can grow kindness all around us. We will grow kindness through a series of crafts. We will make something to donate, something for our families, and something for ourselves.
Hosted by the authors of the children’s book “Looking for Kindness” and founders of Kevin’s Kindness Campaign, Stephanie Waters and Deb Cavlovich. “Looking for Kindness” is a children’s book inspired by O’Hara resident Kevin Cavlovich. “Mr. Kevin” was the beloved custodian of Hosack elementary school who inspired his students daily with his acts of kindness. The book was based on stories told by his students. In his memory, Stephanie and Deb, his sister and mother, provide kindness programming and initiatives at schools, libraries, and communities to inspire kindness in school-age children and continue Mr. Kevin’s legacy. They provide this programming through donations and purchases of their book. Copies of the book are available via amazon.
This event is FREE and sponsored by Jane Herrmann, Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway.
