Mask Mandate Changes, Effective May 14, 2021
The Lauri Ann West Community Center takes safety very seriously and has adhered to all state and local mitigation efforts throughout the pandemic. With yesterday’s new guidance from the CDC and updated mandate from the state, we are pleased to announce the following, effective immediately:
- Fully vaccinated people (two weeks past full vaccine dosage) do not have to wear masks inside the Center.
- Those who are unvaccinated, or not yet fully vaccinated, must continue to wear a mask when inside the Center.
- Children 12-15 do not have to a wear a mask two weeks after receiving their second vaccine dose.
We are seeking clarification for child care staff and children. We ask that parents entering our programming hallway to drop off or pick up children continue to wear a mask while we determine state licensing regulations.
You may also have seen that Governor Wolf has announced that the state will be lifting other mitigation measures on May 31. You can expect more information from us in the coming days detailing how this will affect the Center and our offerings. In the meantime, you may notice us rearranging different areas around the building as we prepare to offer more for our members.
We are very excited for these new steps towards returning to normal. Please be assured that we’ve taken everyone’s safety very seriously throughout the pandemic and will continue to do so. We truly appreciate your support and understanding over the past year. Your kindness and cooperation is what makes our Center such a special part of our community.
