It’s Good to Be Back

A big part of what makes the Community Center so special is the people. To see our building bringing the community together again is an awesome feeling. Things aren’t exactly as they were before, but with the promise of more people and programs coming back to the Center, there is certainly a lot to look forward to.

More Group Ex Classes Added
We were thrilled to phase in group ex this week with nine outdoor classes. Next week we’re adding another six classes including more spin and Theresa’s famous Wednesday circuit. Click here to see next week’s schedule
If you’re joining us in-person, please remember to sign the assumption of risk, bring a mask, and bring your own mat. See you on the patio!

Important Reminders
We’re very thankful to everyone who has followed the safety precautions to protect our members and staff. Please keep in mind a couple of friendly reminders: masks are required in the lobby and social distancing of 6 feet is mandatory in the fitness center.

Little Medical School virtual camps start June 22
These three-hour virtual camps are perfect for aspiring little veterinarians and pediatricians. Pick up your kit at the Center with all the gear you’ll need, including a doctor’s coat. Click here to sign up.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre classes are going virtual
Our favorite instructor Marcie Day is back this summer with an all-virtual lineup of classes from July 7 – August 11:

Abstract art project capsules are now available! Explore a fun lesson in the flavor of Kandinsky, a pioneer in abstract art, by letting kids create their own version of circles and squares. Each kit comes with a canvas, pastels, water colors, and how-to video to create your own masterpiece. Pickup will be at the Center on Friday, June 26 from 4-5pm. Click here to reserve your capsule.

From the Fox Chapel Area High School Counseling Department:

This week, we encourage you to search for a quote about positivity that resonates with you. Throughout the rest of the week when you feel your mind start to wander, come back to that quote and think about why you chose it. Hopefully it will spark some hope and positivity back into your day. The power of positive thinking is amazing.

“It takes the same energy to worry as it does to be positive. Use your energy to think positive and positive things will happen.” – Unknown
