For beginner students looking to properly strengthen the core (lower back, side bodies and abdominals) safely using classical Hatha yoga techniques. Classes begin with dynamic warm-ups and segue into a comprehensive sequence of poses with special emphasis placed on correct alignment and activation of the core body. Learn safe modifications and how to enjoy yoga without strain or unsafe posture. Classes incorporate pranayama (ancient breathing exercises) and short meditations so that students can experience the fullness of this wonderful practice. Students are encouraged to bring yoga blocks, a blanket and a strap if available to them.
