Greg Weimerskirch – Art Director, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Greg Weimerskirch is a Pittsburgh-based production designer, art director, and set designer. He began his film career as an apprentice at George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco. Since then he has collaborated with many of the leading directors of our time, including Ron Howard, Richard Linklater, Gus Van Sant, Denzel Washington, and Ethan Coen.
Greg recently designed the six part Apple TV+ series The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, which stars Samuel L. Jackson and the film Alice, directed by Krystin Ver Linden, which was a finalist at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.
Greg’s work as an art director was also featured in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, starring Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers. His efforts on the film garnered an Art Directors Guild nomination for outstanding production design and involved recreating the world of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in exact detail. His other film credits include the forthcoming Drive-Away Dolls, directed by Ethan Coen, Hillbilly Elegy, directed by Ron Howard, starring Glenn Close and Amy Adams, and the Oscar nominated film Fences, directed by and starring Denzel Washington. Additional projects include Where’d You Go, Bernadette, Mindhunter, Jack Reacher, The Fault In Our Stars, Southpaw, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower, among many others.
