We unite and
inspire community.
The Lauri Ann West Community Center builds connections, expands horizons and impacts lives by providing a safe place for all to learn, play and grow.
Message from the Board of Directors …
We are excited to introduce our new Executive Director, Heidi Ward, MBA. Heidi brings her outgoing energy and enthusiasm for engaging with our community and building connections to our community center on July 13, 2026. To learn more about Heidi, click here.
As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, the Lauri Ann West Community Center is stronger than ever. What started as a hopeful idea has grown into a vibrant community hub and true neighborhood asset – now supporting more than 4,000 active fitness members, a state-certified after-school program in high demand, and a welcoming gathering place with more than 130,000 visitors each year. Thanks to strong community support and careful planning, we are financially stable and able to maintain our facilities that bring people together for activity, learning, and connections.

We are proud to spotlight Dawn DiPasquale as our June Member of the Month!
Dawn comes here to work out almost every day of the week, once a week with a trainer. She and her family live locally and have been coming to Lauri Ann West for ten years.
In college, Dawn was an athlete at Duquesne University, where she ran the 800 meters. Now her two daughters run the 800 meters at their respective schools! She aims to be a role model for her daughters, showing them that it is okay to be a strong, muscular woman who properly fuels herself.
Dawn`s motto is "You may not be motivated, but you should be disciplined." Commitment to showing up every day is something our member of the month lives by, both in her exercise routine and in her community service. Dawn is on the board of Backpack for Hunger, an organization that provides bags of non-perishable food for Fox Chapel Area School District students facing food insecurity. @backpack_for_hunger_fc
Thank you, Dawn, for being a valued member of the Lauri Ann West Community Center!

On Wednesday, 70 friends, familiar and new, joined us for a beautiful evening on the Scott Family Patio listening to live music.
Local singer-songwriter @michellericciardihall Michelle Hall started off the evening. Her beautiful voice and keyboard melodies carried the audience through both originals and recognizable covers.
Local favorite @theacousticunion Acoustic Union: John, Cherylann, Kevin, and Joe brought a perfect blend of originals and familiar tunes, complete with plenty of clap-along performances.
Joe Hnath and Madeline Segal of @bandtogetherpgh Band Together Pittsburgh joined them for a few tunes.
Special thanks to Mary Margaret and Lloyd Stamy, who have sponsored our Wine Wednesdays this summer!
Join us next month on July 29th to see @michael_berkey_music key perform.

We are excited to introduce our new Executive Director, Heidi Ward, MBA. Heidi brings her outgoing energy and enthusiasm for engaging with our community and building connections to our community center on July 13, 2026.
Most recently, Heidi served as Director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Neighborhood Commitment in Greater Hazelwood, where she built meaningful connections between community priorities and university resources, driving impact in PreK-12 education, workforce development, and inclusive community initiatives. Prior to Pitt, Heidi served as Director of Community and Summer Education at Point Park University, designing participant-centered programs for high school students and lifelong learners. Heidi launched her early career in Los Angeles, where she produced content for a variety of television networks, including NBC’s Naturally, Danny Seo, which earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle Programming.
A proud two-time Point Park University alumna, Heidi holds a bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Digital Arts and an MBA with a concentration in Management – the perfect combination for a leader who believes communities deserve both creative vision and strategic thinking.
Outside of work, Heidi enjoys exploring neighborhoods with her husband, Jon, and their dog, Plinko. A proud Pittsburgh boomerang, Heidi is a self-proclaimed Kennywood enthusiast, puzzle extraordinaire, and always happy to meet at a local coffee shop. And for those who love a fun fact: Heidi once served as a Tough Mudder obstacle-course tester.
Heidi is looking forward to meeting the people who make the Lauri Ann West Community Center special, saying, “I can’t wait to learn, play, and grow alongside this community.”
Welcome, Heidi!
