The Lauri Ann West Community Center is proud to partner with and advocate for other organizations that serve our community. Below are a few with whom we have active, ongoing relationships. As a central gathering place, we frequently are a collection site for donations and promote community events through on-site signage, as well as direct communications via our newsletter and social media.
If you are interested in uniting and inspiring our community together, please reach out at questions@lauriannwestcc.org.
Lauri Ann West Community Center is grateful for O’Hara Township’s long-standing partnership and generosity. It is a privilege to work with them to serve our area and beyond.
We enjoy hosting several Township-sponsored events throughout the year, including community outreach programs such as “Cookies and Cocoa with the Cops plus a Movie” and lectures aimed at helping adults stay safe.
While the Center is an independent, private, non-profit (501(c)(3)) entity governed by a volunteer-based Board of Directors, the property on which the Center is located, and the building are owned by O’Hara Township. In 2013, the Community Center Association and the Township entered into a 99-year lease for use of the property and building.
O’Hara Township also provided a capital loan during construction and provides ongoing support to Lauri Ann West Community Center through in-kind services, including snow and trash removal, landscaping, and grounds maintenance, as well as a monetary stipend for operating expenses. In 2024, the Township built the outdoor classroom pavilion at the back of our parking lot and installed the gaga pit. They are also responsible for maintaining the playground and flex court.
With O’Hara Township’s support continuing, the Center is able to look its best and improve the amenities offered to all of our members and guests.
Lauri Ann West Community Center is a proud partner of Second Harvest Community Thrift Store. Located in Sharpsburg, Second Harvest hosts a Community Free Fridge that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is available to anyone in the area who needs it. No questions asked.
Lauri Ann West is a collection site for contributions to the Community Free Fridge. Individuals wanting to donate fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, milk and cheese, canned goods, cereals, and personal hygiene products for the Community Free Fridge can drop-off supplies during normal business hours at the Center for safe, efficient delivery to Second Harvest.
Fox Families Care bridges the gap between the needs of children and the resources available in the Fox Chapel Area School District.
Lauri Ann West Community Center is proud to partner with Fox Families Care by serving as a collection site for their donation drives and promoting their special events. Together we empower students to reach their greatest potential by providing necessities, practical support and enriching experiences.
