SilverSneakers
Starting March 1 our SilverSneakers classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will resume being held in-person in the Community Room. Live streaming will still be available, as well.
Youth Fitness Classes
We want kids to be more involved in fitness at the Center, so we’ve started two weekly youth classes that are free for fitness members. Reservations are required by calling our welcome desk starting two days before at 412-828-8566. Masks required at all times. A parent must come in to the Center for drop-off/pickup. Please send a water bottle!

Saturdays, 9:00-9:45am, Ages 11-13 (must be at least 4’10”), Instructor: Cassie Conti
New Open Gym Sessions
We know that families and kids have loved coming to Open Gym, so we’re excited to add two additional sessions starting this week. Due to state capacity restrictions, we will continue to limit all Open Gym sessions to 20 people. Reservations are required by calling our welcome desk the day of at 412-828-8566. New! Preschool Open Gym starts March 1
To give our youngest members a safe time to use the gymnasium, we are offering Preschool Open Gym for 3-5 year olds on Mondays from 10:00-11:00am. Parents must stay in the gym the entire time and everyone is required to wear a mask. Reservations are required by calling our welcome desk the day of at 412-828-8566. Capacity will be limited to 10 total, including parents and children.
Make & Create Classes Start March 8
New after school classes with busing from FCASD schools
These weekly classes run from 4:00 – 5:45pm and are a great chance for kids to try out something new in our Maker Studio. Each 4 week session lets kids explore art & STEAM activities with our awesome instructors, Mr. Wade, Ms. Carol, and Ms. Ann. Kids will get the chance to build machines, work with watercolors, learn print making, draw cartoons, and more! Learn more and register.
Open Maker Studio Time
Sundays – March 14th, April 11th, & May 9th from 1-3pm
Open Maker Studio drop in time will be available for kids 5-11 years old. Our instructor will help kids become designers as they select earth-friendly materials and create unique objects to take home or add to a communal project!
We provide all kinds of interesting found and recycled materials, real tools, hot glue, and endless scope for the imagination! Children can be dropped off at 1pm and must be promptly picked up at 3pm. This is open to all Program & Fitness Members at the Center.

Seeking Program Instructors
We are seeking dynamic, highly qualified instructors for a wide variety of independently contracted positions. If you have a passion for teaching in your area(s) of expertise, please submit this form to Programs Manager, Jason Fate at jfate@lauriannwestcc.org. We will review submissions for all age groups and content areas to fill the needs of our community, including, but not limited to:
- School age sports
- Music
- STEAM
- School age sports

Instructors must be able to provide up to date clearances (FBI, Criminal, Child Abuse). All CDC guidelines are followed to run programming as safely as possible.
Girls on the Run Program at the Community Center
The Community Center is excited to be a site for the upcoming Girls on the Run Season! Girls on the Run creates a safe and fun place for girls of all abilities to make new friends, new healthy habits and new memories. Connection is critical for our girls, and Girls on the Run offers a safe place for girls to connect with peers and adult role models. Click here to learn more and register. Questions?
