City Theatre Seeking Entries for Young Playwrights Contest

Pittsburgh’s City Theatre is seeking entries for their Young Playwrights Contest.

This annual contest encourages 7-12th grade students in western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia to make their voices heard by writing and submitting original, one-act plays. Every script is read and evaluated by a Literary Committee of theatre professionals, and each student receives a written summary of the evaluator’s comments, including encouraging suggestions for continued revisions.

Winning plays selected will be professionally produced during the Young Playwright Festival in the fall.

Submission deadline is March 31, 2022. Visit citytheatrecompany.org/education/ypc for rules and to submit your play.
