Here is what’s new at the Community Center the week of March 15:

  • Fitness center update
  • Specialty summer camp registration
  • New art & STEAM classes start soon
  • Seeking instructors & volunteers

Fitness Center Update, Effective Immediately:

  • The fitness center and track will not shutdown from 12:00-12:30 p.m.
These areas will continue to be sanitized on a regular schedule throughout the day and professionally cleaned each night.
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. will not be reserved as senior hour. With all students returning to school five days per week and SilverSneakers classes once again being offered in-person, we believe that older adults will still be able to safely and comfortably use the Center.

Specialty Summer Camp Registration

We’re excited to partner with local organizations to offer specialty summer camp options that will allow kids to really explore their favorite interests and hobbies. Space is limited for social distancing and camps are filling up fast. Register soon!

New Art & STEAM Classes

After school from 4:00 – 5:45. Busing included!

Pick a session to explore a range of STEAM activities with some of our favorite after school instructors. This is a great way to introduce your child to new friends in a safe, creative environment. The small classes are for ages 6-12 and follow all COVID safety protocols.

New four-week classes starting in April include cartooning, abstract art, and maker studio projects. Register soon! Learn more and register.

Seeking Instructors and Volunteers

Instructors
We are seeking dynamic, highly qualified instructors for a wide variety of independently contracted positions. If you have a passion for teaching in your area(s) of expertise submit an RFP form! We will review submissions for all age groups and content areas to fill the needs of our community, including sports, music, STEAM, and adult education.

Volunteers
We’re looking for fun, energetic, and responsible volunteers to help with summer camps at the Center from June 7-August 16. Volunteers will be working with children ages 3-12 throughout the day. This is a great way to earn your community service hours or build your resume for future work opportunities! Click here for an application.

Last week marked 5 years since the old Boyd Community Center was torn down. It’s amazing to think of how far we’ve come and how many memories have been made since that time.

We hope that as more and more people feel comfortable to return to the Center, that everyone remembers this is still a welcoming place that brings our community together.

If you have questions, ideas, or concerns about anything at the Center, please feel free to reach out to us!
