Support The Center

Thank you for your support of Lauri Ann West Community Center.  Your generosity provides opportunities to build connections, expand horizons, and impact lives by providing a safe place in our community for all to learn, play, and grow.

With the generous donations received in 2024:

Scholarships

More than $66,000 in scholarships were provided to individual and families. This allowed them to participate in programs, summer camps, our after school program or utilize the fitness center.

Summer Camps

Over 180 different kids were able to connect, learn and play in our summer camps. We expect at least that many will attend in 2025!

Sue Golier Memorial Speaker Series

We were able to offer engaging speakers who educated and entertained our community. 5 free Sue Golier Memorial Speaker Series lectures are scheduled in 2025.

A&E Arts & Enrichment After School Program

More than 70 kids participated in the A&E Arts and Enrichment After-School Program. We expect that number to increase for 2025.

Senior Classes

Our senior members filled over 5,900 spots in our SilverSneakers classes. Our members enjoy moving and socializing in these classes, which are offered 4 times a week.

Programs

Over 160 wellness, growth, and discovery programs were offered at the Center in 2024 for everyone age 3 and above. We continue to grow our program offerings.

Community Events

Family friendly community events such as Unity in the Community, Trunk or Treat, and Breakfast with Santa will continue. Thursdays on the Patio will return as well!

Your ideas for additional ways to serve our community are always welcome.

Ways to Support

Celebrate the Center (CTC) is the Lauri Ann West Community Center’s premier fundraiser and a highly-anticipated social event. Here, families, friends, colleagues and area businesses gather to enjoy a night of fine food, music and libations while supporting a community resource for wellness, learning, growth and discovery.

Be part of this annual celebration as a patron or sponsor. Learn more here.

Thanks to the work of volunteers, the Reflection Garden on the Lauri Ann West Community Center’s Scott Family Patio is now landscaped and adorned with seasonal plantings.

Help us continue to beautify and personalize this space by reserving an engravable stepping stone.

Only a limited number of stones are available. More information here.

Your planned gift, whether through a bequest, life insurance, real-estate, retirement accounts, tax rollovers, or other various options, can have a significant and lasting impact on our community.  Our staff can help you explore the various ways to create your meaningful legacy at the Center to achieve your philanthropic and personal financial goals.

Your contributions provide scholarships, offer SilverSneakers, expand our community outreach, hire and retain expert instructors, and upkeep the facility and make improvements.  Membership revenue and O’Hara Township support fall short of meeting all of the areas of need.

Your generosity makes a difference.  Join us by sustaining a safe place for all to learn, grow, and play by making a gift today.

The Lauri Ann West Community Center is an approved Educational Improvement Organization under the Education Improvement Tax Credit program offered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. EITC enables businesses to make donations to non-profit educational organizations approved by the Commonwealth. EITC is a statewide initiative enacted by the DCED in 2001 and enables Pennsylvania businesses to apply credits against their tax liability for the tax year in which they make a contribution to support students and education in the Commonwealth. The dollars your company would have paid in taxes will instead provide funding to support S.T.E.A.M. education programming for children at the Community Center. Visit Pennsylvania’s EITC site, which is provided above, for more information or to apply for tax credits.

Many corporations offer their employees the benefit of matching the personal philanthropy of their employees. Please check with your employer to see if you are eligible. Typically, employers will provide a matching gift form that you complete and send with your gift. This program can double your gift and provide extra benefit to the Center at no extra cost to you.
