Facility Improvements Completed

We would like to thank everyone for your patience last week as several flooring projects were recently completed.

The court of the Dunlap Family Gymnasium has been resurfaced and the Nancy Ann Taylor Dance Studio received a new, multi-purpose floor.

Thanks to your continued support, we’re able to keep the facility fresh and looking new.


Indoor Pickleball & Classes Return

Indoor Pickleball is back at the Lauri Ann West Community Center. See our updated schedule of Round Robin play times, Reserve-a-Courts and Open Pickleball options below.

Round Robin Pickleball
Mondays: 12-2pm
Tuesdays: 12:15-2pm
Wednesdays: 12-2pm
Thursdays: 10am-12pm
Fridays: 11am-12:30pm
Sundays: 9:15-11:15am

Round Robin Pickleball is free to members, $10 for all other guests. Members register through the Mindbody App beginning two days in advance. (Guests/drop-ins call 412-828-8566.)

Reserve-a-Court Pickleball
Fridays: 12:30-2pm
Saturdays: 1-2pm

Reserve-a-Court Pickleball is free to members, $10 for all other guests. Members register through the Mindbody App beginning two days in advance. Only one person (a member) needs to register for their group. Choose from one of three spots for your group.

Open Pickleball
Open Pickleball (free to members) is available 11:30am-1pm Saturdays through September 24.


Pickleball Classes
Pickleball classes include strategy, drills and coached playtime. Each class is split with a 30-minute lesson followed by 30 minutes of coached play.

Our Fall Session 1 classes begin the week of September 12 with an exciting schedule of offerings for children, teens and adults.

Discover a new hobby, learn to dance, or join friends for a game of Bridge. Classes are hands-on, thought-provoking and led by experts.

Be Part of the Sharpsburg Community-Wide Yard & Sidewalk Sale

The Sharpsburg Community-Wide Yard & Sidewalk Sale is back and you’re invited to participate. The event takes place 8am-2pm Saturday, September 10.

The Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization is creating a map of all participating local sales. Those interested in being on the map should register here or call 412-407-7661. (Registration deadline is September 1, 2022.)

Donations are also being accepted to help cover advertising costs to get the word out.

Sharpsburg Community Library Free Little Pantry Seeking Donations

The Free Little Pantry at Sharpsburg Community Library is in need of donations. Items needed include shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, soap, wipes, deodorant, q-tips and dish soap. Items must be dropped off inside during regular Library hours:

Monday & Wednesday: 1pm-7pm
Tuesday & Thursday: 10am-5pm
Saturday: 10am- 2pm

The Library is located at 1212 Main Street in Sharpsburg.

Fox Chapel Garden Club Holding Shoe Drive

The Fox Chapel Garden Club is looking for community members to help them collect 25 pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes in the next 4 weeks.

Check your closets and gather pairs of shoes that you’ve out grown, are out of style, or out of season. Please ask your neighbors and/or co-workers to do the same. These shoes will help individuals in developing nations like Ghana, Haiti and Cambodia.

Shoes can be dropped off at the Lauri Ann West Community Center or the Hoboken Presbyterian Church located at 921 North Avenue in Blawnox.
