Instructor Spotlight
Ivan White
Ivan White has worked in the health and fitness industry for 35 years as an instructor, business owner and everything in between.
He studied Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Pittsburgh, then transitioned to Penn State University’s program of the same name. He went on to work as a physical education teacher at Sewickley Academy for more than 16 years.
Ivan strongly believes that we’ve only begun to scratch the surface of our true potential, and it takes an integrated approach to wellness for us to become our very best. His mission is to help everyone he meets embrace this mindset to achieve results.

Summer Camp Registration
Summer Camp Registration Opens Tues., February 8
We’re pleased to announce our traditional full-day camps for children ages 5-12 and half-day camps for pre-K will open for registration at noon on Tuesday, February 8.
Weekly themes in sports, art, space, science, music, nature, history and more. With a curriculum that emphasizes S.T.E.A.M. activities, games and outdoor time led by expert instructors – camps at the Lauri Ann West Community Center provide an opportunity for children’s creativity to flourish.

Speaker Series
Speaker Series Continues Feb. 20 with Feng Shui Expert Fawn Chang
Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art of arranging objects to create balance and harmony while encouraging the flow of positive chi (life force) is the topic of the Lauri Ann West Community Center’s ongoing KNOWbodies: Knowledge Through Perspective Speaker Series taking place Sunday, February 20. Doors open at 7pm, talk begins at 7:30pm.
Speaker Fawn Chang is a Feng Shui expert, interior designer and color marketing specialist. Chang has been on the cutting edge of interior design trends for more than 30 years and is a leader in Feng Shui design. The environments she creates for both work and living promote health, happiness and healing.
There is no charge for admission; however, pre-registration is required and seating is limited.

Winter Session II Children’s Classes Begin the Week of Feb. 28
Children’s classes at the Lauri Ann West Community Center provide a safe, clean and fun environment to learn, grow and discover.
Registration is now open for our Winter Session II (Feb. 28 – Apr. 6). Topics include:
- JumpBunch Parent & Tot (ages 18-24 mo.) – Begins Wed., Mar. 2
- JumpBunch Fitness Fun for Toddlers (ages 2-3 ½) – Begins Wed., Mar. 2
- Soccer Shots Mini (ages 2-3) – Begins Tues., Mar. 1
- Soccer Shots Classic (ages 3-5) – Begins Tues., Mar. 1
- JumpBunch Pre-K Fitness Exploration (ages 3 ½-5) – Mon., Feb. 28
- Basketball K-3 (ages 5-9) – Begins Wed., Mar. 2
- Soccer Shots Premier (ages 6-8) – Tues., Mar. 1

Registration is also open for our Foxes’ Kitchen children’s cooking class, which begins on Sat., March 26.

Free Personal Training Session Available to Fitness Members
A personal trainer at the Lauri Ann West Community Center can lead you to achieving your fitness goals. Whether you’re training for a sport, trying to lose weight or want to gain muscle – we have a package and trainer that is right for you.
All fitness members are entitled to a free, 30-minute personal training session or wellness orientation.

Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church Fill the Truck Food Drive is Feb. 13
The Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church’s annual Fill the Truck food drive takes place 8:30-11am Sunday, February 13.
Donations will be accepted in the church parking lot along Field Club Road.
This one-day community food drive benefits Bread of Life Pantry in Etna, Saint Vincent de Paul Pantry in Sharpsburg and the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center Pantry in Indiana Township.
Shady Side Academy Presents Pippin Feb. 11-13

Fox Chapel Area Adult Education welcomes Doug Oster for a two-part live Zoom class 6-8pm February 15 & 22.
Doug is a local gardening personality and Emmy winner. He’ll discuss ways to jumpstart your garden for the spring. Suitable for beginners and advanced gardeners.
